Biographies for Secretary Candidates for D3 E-board 2014-2015Klara Lacson - Hi! My name is Klara Lacson and I'm a first-year Nursing student at Rutgers New Brunswick. I'm proud to call my hometown Wood-Ridge, NJ and I attended Bergen County Academies. I'm a powerful and energetic team player for RU Women's Volleyball Club and also a Freshman Representative for Rutgers Association of Philippine Students (RAPS). As a Freshman Rep, I've had the honor to work alongside our lovely executive board to plan events, run general body meetings, network with other organizations, and improve our organization as a whole. My involvement in RAPS has inspired me to take my determination and enthusiasm even further, by becoming involved in D3 as well. As secretary, I hope to bring my positive energy and creative mind to the D3 Executive Board. I'm a small girl with big dreams, and one of them is becoming your D3 Secretary!
Nina Santocildes - Nina Santocildes was born in Manhattan, NY and raised in Union, NJ. She is a student at Union County College studying nursing through Trinitas Hospital's nursing program. Nina began to acknowledge her leadership skills in high school when she became captain of her marching band's color guard. Nina currently serves on UCC TROPA's executive board as one of their Events Coordinators. Being that TROPA is a new club, Nina and her fellow board members are very passionate to push themselves and their members to be more involved with the Filipino-American community. This past year was her first as one of the leaders of a Filipino club, but not her first experience with District 3 and FIND, Inc. as she was an active member of FLASH when she was a freshman at Seton Hall University. As a student at SHU, Nina began to get in touch with what it meant to be a Filipino-American. She has carried what she learned about herself and the community to UCC's TROPA. There's much more to learn and she believes that stepping out into the world and experiencing it yourself is the best way to do so. Nina hopes she can give back to the community that has served as a strong foundation of who she has become today.
